ADF

This site originates from the ADF — a community centered around collecting and sharing yaoi content. Beginning its journey on the 4chan's Yaoi (/y/) board, ADF has since become a thing of its own, with the primary gathering place being on the Discord server (linked in this site's header).

ADF stands for Artist(s) Drive Folders, where Drive refers to the cloud drives, such as Google Drive, historically used for most of the sharing. Attentive readers may have noticed that nowadays even within the ADF scraper websites and places like e-hentai account for the large chunk of the shares, but the name got stuck, just like this is cat.yupdates even though there's been years since we've tracked any /y/ updates.

Historically there used to website similar to YDC at adf.rocks. YDC has completely superseded it on 2021.01.01. Our Wall mode is a tribute to how ADF.rocks used to look like.

We've also had a drive updates tracker at yupdates.art; it was discontinued in early 2023 due to maintenance cost outweighing the usefulness, with fewer and fewer people bothering to share and regularly maintain the artist drives.

YDC is closely related to the ADF and there is an overlap in moderation teams, but it is not a part of the ADF. Not everything posted here is automatically ADF Discord-legal, nor does it necessarily express the opinions of the ADF leaders.

Archived threads

Several 4chan archives exist, and some of them archive the /y/ board. All of the links in this section lead to the fireden.net archive, with other notable alternative being Archived.moe.

The history ends here because /y/ has then adopted a stricter moderation policy, both in terms of copyright enforcement and in the specifics of what content they deem inappropriate. There were attempts at making the 9th and later threads, but they have not survived for long enough to be useful.

Discord server logs

For ADF 1 - 4, unpack the entire archive into a single directory and open "index.html".
For ADF 5 and newer, unpack the entire archive into a single directory and open the .html of the channel you'd like to view.
IMPORTANT: in the lifetime of ADF 6 Discord has changed the way they handle links to the attachments, making them only accessible for a very short time. Every iteration of ADF has been huge, so archiving them with all the attachments was not practical. Unfortunately, since Discord has changed the way it operates any pictures or files uploaded to Discord directly won't be accessible using these "slim" archives.

#3 was a short-lived Matrix server, its history is not preserved. ADF matrix 2.0 is currently alive and is being fully archived regularly.
